Theme: Rollercoaster: Ups and Downs in the Musical Theater

Guest speakers Gretchen Cryer and Nancy Ford are best known for I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On The Road, the first feminist musical hit. They also wrote the American Girls musicals which ran for ten years in New York, Chicago, and L.A. The Last Sweet Days of Isaac was a big hit off-Broadway, and they wrote last year's success, Anne of Green Gables. Between the two of them they have two Emmys, an Obie, a Drama Desk Award, an Outer Critics' Circle Award, an Ed Kleban Award, two Jefferson Awards, a Grammy nomination, two Writers' Guild Awards, & four honorary doctorates.
