Star Island is one of the rocky, wind-swept Isles of Shoals, located off the coast of Rye, New Hampshire. For over 100 years, summers here have provided individuals and families with a welcome respite from their busy mainland lives. Throughout this "conference era" Star Island's focus has been on family, adult, and youth programming on topics from the arts to religion & science to international affairs. And now you can come to Star to enjoy a personal retreat. At various points throughout the summer season (mid-June through mid-September) our rustic guestrooms will be made available for people who want to try out Star for the first time or to return for a less–structured vacation without conference programming.
Enjoy the freedom to set your own schedule. Watch the sunset from a rocking chair on our vast front porch. Brave the waters of the Atlantic for an early morning polar bear dip. Create a work of art, or play a musical instrument. Enjoy a lobster roll accompanied by one of our famous lime rickeys from the snack bar. Lie in the grass and look up at the spectacular night sky.
Visit Star Island and return to your life refreshed and renewed.

Services: Enjoy coffee service on the front porch before breakfast each day, swimming, rowboats ($3 per hour), tennis, and other recreational activities. Showers are available Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday, from 1:00 to 6:00. Meals are hearty and satisfying home style cuisine served family style in the hotel’s dining room. Our rooms are rustic but comfortable and special accomodations are available for the mobility-impaired.
Registration Information: Please fill out a 2008 Retreat Registration Form and mail to Star Island Corporation. Our registrar will contact you to confirm room availability on your requested dates, go over the details of your stay, and discuss payment options.
Boat Schedule: Retreaters must make their own boat reservations with the Uncle Oscar out of Rye, NH: (603) 964-6446, www.uncleoscar.com. There are generally four trips daily. Retreaters are welcome to bring a musical instrument, easel, or other such item so long as prior arrangement is made.
