Star Island is one of the rocky, wind-swept Isles of Shoals, located off the coast of Rye, New Hampshire. For over 100 years, summers here have provided individuals and families with a welcome respite from their busy mainland lives. Star Island Corporation is a nonprofit organization which maintains the island and its facilities and provides hospitality services for visitors.
New Parent or Grandparent?

Children UNDER THREE by the start date of a conference will now be able to accompany you free of any room and board charges! Talk to your registrar for details—and don't worry if you've already registered, the discount will be automatically made by the front desk.
We Are Celebrating!
We are celebrating! We are celebrating the 112th season since conferences began on Star Island in 1897…we successfully opened the 2008 season on June 14th with joyous and happy Arts and YACers…singing up the boat ramp and onto their island home!
We are celebrating…the success of our first annual Seacoast Day for our community…over 130 guests from government agencies, funding organizations, our vendors, local businesses, and the Chamber of Commerce members joined us on Star for lunch (created by Wentworth by the Sea), touring the island, and spending money in the Gift Shop and the Bookstore. It was followed by a wonderful, positive article in the Portsmouth Herald—the best we have seen since last summer!
Conferences are filling up as people realize that it is much cheaper to drive to Rye Harbor and come to Star Island for this summer, than flying almost anywhere! And we will NOT charge you extra for your baggage! Please look at the conferences later in July and August and consider joining us, if you have not already registered!
Again, we are celebrating! And we want to celebrate with you…come back to Star!
Cordially and with great joy,
Vicky Hardy
"...The spirit of the Shoals absorbs what we consider highest, noblest, and even most heroic in the human spirit. We have become a community of the spirit reaching together toward our ideas and encouraging one another in the process. Star Island, simply, asks of us a certain height. Our island has been asking this of us ever since we first came here. We have all responded by stretching a bit and feeling a bit taller. We expect it of other Star Islanders. They expect it of us. We feel we must not let one another down."—Fred McGill
